Episode 49

Play episode

We are joined by Doctor of Music, Liam Maloney, to talk about the rise and possible fall of Disco. We look at how Disco began in a New York loft, the Stonewall uprising, the destruction of dangerous disco records, how disco continues to this day, and no Abba, though there is some Ethel Merman, for some reason. And Liam chose some incredibly long, but cracking, tunes for us to listen to.

If you think you know what Disco is, you might be surprised.
